Welcome to Black Earth Compost!\\
Your pickup day in Lexington is on [day]. Please place your bin curbside where it is visible from the street by 6am
__Curbside Bin Starter Kit__: New curbside composters can pick up a (no cost) green curbside bin, a countertop container, liners for curbside bin, and liners for the countertop container. Bring your welcome email to the DPW Operations counter on the first floor of the Samuel Hadley Services Building at 201 Bedford St, Lexington, MA 02420 (Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). Returning customers in need of a new bin can purchase one through the Shop in your online account.
If picking up the bin is a barrier to starting please reach out to Lexington’s Sustainability & Resilience Officer, Maggie Peard at mpeard@lexingtonma.gov or (781) 698-4538 to arrange for an alternative.
If you purchased additional liners, they will be delivered by Black Earth Compost on your first scheduled pickup. Stickers are sent in the mail.
Your pickup day should be the same as your trash collection day. Let us know if it is different. To avoid confusion, leave space between your Black Earth Compost bin and your trash and recycling bins, such as on the opposite corners of your driveway.
We recommend writing your address on your bin.
A welcome email was sent to [you] with instructions on how to get started. If you don't receive it, please contact us to have it resent. It may end up in your spam folder.
