Hi Adam,
A while ago my Dreamhost account was hosting the BNUG Wordpress site. It developed issues that I had no involvement with, and SteveP was quick to blame me for causing the problems in order to make him look bad or to get back at him.
As you know this was not the case, I was not doing anything to affect the Wordpress site, nor to make him look bad or get back at him.
This was the reason that the BNUG Wordpress was moved to the current ISP at (I think) Sharif's expense. Sharif was very gracious to offer this.

Now we are thinking of moving the BNUG Wordpress site back under my Dreamhost account.
While initially I was OK with this, while discussing with Evie tonight she pointed out that if we move it back under my account, it is entirely possible that SteveP may again have Wordpress issues and may again blame me for causing the issues. It may also lead him to believe that I would or should offer support for his BNUG Wordpress site to help him diagnose the problems that I know nothing about and did not cause.

Because of this, I now see three options for BNUG Wordpress hosting.

If we choose this option, I will spend a reasonable amount of effort to help with the Wordpress migration, and I require that I receive an agreement from and signed by SteveP stating:
(a) that SteveP understands that I will not interfere with the management and operation of the BNUG Wordpress site,
(b) that SteveP understands that he will make no unfounded and unsubstantiated accusations, claims, statements, emails, social media posts, or implications that I am then or have ever done any intentional interference with his or his team's management and operation of the BNUG Wordpress site, and
( c) that SteveP understands that I will not be providing any Wordpress support as I am not qualified to provide this support.
If I don't get this agreement or until such time as I do get it, then options 2 or 3 are required.
If he breaches or fails to adhere to these terms of the agreement at any time then I reserve the right to sue him for defamation of character and slander.

My reasoning for this is that for the past 35+ years all I have done is support BNUG in all of my deeds and actions. I have been treasurer for the group for over 25 years and have protected the group's assets for at least that long. For SteveP or anyone to come out and accuse me of doing anything negative to BNUG or its website is unacceptable, disrespectful, and slanderous.

This keeps me almost totally out of it, and for this reason may be preferred. If we choose this option, I will spend a reasonable amount of effort to help with the Wordpress migration.
I believe the “Shared Starter” plan would be appropriate, it offers 1 website (the Wordpress site that I can point bnug.org to), Wordpress pre-installed, automated Wordpress migrations (just like my hosting plan does) at a cost of $2.59/month or $93.24 for 3 years (price goes up after 3 years, this would renew at the then-current rate which now is $5.99/mo. for the 3-year plan). BNUG has enough in the treasury to pay for this.

I don't remember the charges, but we do have funds in the treasury to pay a reasonable cost.
